The Lone Star German Shorthaired Pointer Club consists of members that enjoy spending time with their GSPs, as well as spending time with others that enjoy their canine companions. The Lone Star GSP Club was established in 1965 and is a non-profit organization located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We are a member club of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America (GSPCA) which is associated with the American Kennel Club, as well as a member club of the National German Shorthaired Pointer Association (NGSPA) which is associated with the American Field. While we are a diverse group, we have one common link, our dogs. Many of us acquired our dogs for hunting and field trialing, but some of us were just looking for a family pet and companion.
The German Shorthaired Pointer is known for being able to turn it on in the field and turn it off in the home. Our canine family members share not only places in our homes, but places in our hearts. We all enjoy seeing one another succeed in showcasing the breed through their accomplishments. Our members also travel to other regions to attend different breed club activities and we always seem to have members attending the National Championships. If you would like to learn more about the opportunities that exist for developing a close working relationship with your GSP, just contact us. We are here to help!
